I Dont Want to Wear a Dress to My Wedding
I don't want to wear a wedding dress - suggestions?
Greetings all,
I am getting married in the fall and we will be having a small outdoor ceremony followed by a party. We have been together for 15 years so everyone is very excited that we are finally doing it. My sister and future mother in law are pushing for a wedding dress but I rarely wear dresses as I find them uncomfortable. Any suggestions on what I could wear. Everyday wear typically includes boots and jeans and work wear is usually slacks and blouses. Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated. (We are in the middle of cowboy country and will be married by a justice of peace in an outdoor ceremony.)

Pick an outfit that you feel fabulous in. The end. What what you want. Its your wedding.
Don't know enough about you and your day to give more, but seriously, pick something you feel great in and rock the shit out of it.

Nothing wrong with nice slacks and a nice blouse. be you, just a slightly more dressed up you. be comfy and happy is the key
How about a shorter bridesmaid dress with cowboy botots? Or there are many really cute one piece pants jumpers with big flowinglegs that look like a skirt but are really pants. Im wearing a navy blue mother of the bride dress so Im all about wear what you feel comfortable in. I would google wedding or formal pants suits... and womans formal western wear.

I think a nice white pant suit would be great. I plan to wear one to my shower actually.

So cowboy country made me think of Miranda Lambert.... Add a jean jacket to it and call it a day. Doesn't have to be a white dress either, just an idea! What about a dress makes you uncomfortable, or is it less physically uncomfortable but more not you? In that case I'd wear jeans and boots and maybe a white blouse to make your sister and FMIL happy

They started making wedding pant suits, maybe look into that? Stay true to yourself, if you aren't comfortable wearing a dress, then don't.

I was thinking the white pants suit...or if you want to go really casual what about white jeans with a white cardigan/button down blouse...or white bermuda shorts. You don't even have to wear white! At the end of the day, you can wear what ever you want!!

Jumpsuit! Or white capris and a black or colored chiffon top.
I say at least go and try on a wedding dress. Don't bring the people pushing for it since they will try and talk you into it. I didn't think I was really into a wedding dress either but once I tried them on I started to realize how important our day was and how much I really wanted to look special for it. I'm not saying you'll definitely go with a dress but it I think you'll come out of a fitting with a better idea of what you want.

I agree with going to try some dresses on, just so you can say you did it at least If it feels unnatural, pick an outfit you feel gorgeous in and that's you anD that you are comfortable in. Some people won't like it, but they aren't the one wearing the outfit.

Would you be comfortable in a very nice pant/top set or in a jumpsuit? I think you should feel like yourself but also a fancy version of yourself, so that could be a good place to start
